We had a busy October and we have you, our online community, to thank for it! Because of your commitment to research during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and your generous donations via our site and your personal fundraisers, we are able to fund the equivalent of two new research grants.
We’re so impressed by the passion so many of you have shown. Here, we share a few of your stories in the hopes of inspiring future fundraisers just like you!
Cindy Camacho, A Mother’s Legacy: The Camacho siblings are raising money in honor of their mother, Gloria, who passed away from breast cancer in 2011. We’re touched that, by supporting BCRF, they’re keeping their mom’s generous spirit alive.
Beth House and the Dopey at Disney Challenge: Running 48 miles isn’t easy but, then again, neither is battling breast cancer. In January 2015, Beth House and her husband will tackle the Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World. Over the course of four days, the couple will run a 5k, 10k, half marathon and, finally, a full marathon in honor of Beth’s mom, who is fighting breast cancer for the second time.
UNH Maiden Harmony: Fight Like: Maiden Harmony, an all-female a capella group at the University of New Hampshire, is organizing a benefit show to engage the college community to support research. They’re so close to reaching their goal—give them the final boost!
October might be over, but our researchers are working year-round to prevent and put an end to this disease. Help us #BeTheEnd of breast cancer by starting your fundraiser today.
