NEW YORK, NY—(JULY 18, 2017)— The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign has announced its Title Sponsorship of Play for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate diagnosis, New technology, Knowledge), a volunteer-driven organization with a mission to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) through participation by more than 30,000 people in 300 sporting and lifestyle events, primarily golf and tennis tournaments, across 30 states. The $250,000 Title Sponsorship, effective July 1, 2017, will enable Play for P.I.N.K. (PFP) to donate 100% of all proceeds to BCRF, and support BCRF’s mission to eradicate breast cancer as its largest single donor, raising more than $56 million to date.
The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is an unrivaled champion of breast cancer research. In 1992, the late Evelyn Lauder founded the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign and in 1993 she established the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. Her passion created a global movement to end breast cancer that continues today; the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign is the largest corporate donor to date with more than $56 million donated to BCRF since the Foundation’s inception. “The sponsorship of Play for P.I.N.K. underscores the strength of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign’s commitment to support organizations that advance lifesaving research. When my mother was imagining The Breast Cancer Campaign, she had a vision of the impact we could have on breast cancer research, the treatment of breast cancer, and women’s health,” said William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies and Co-Chairman of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
“This Sponsorship is a testament to the power of the BCRF family and our shared mission of ending breast cancer,” said Play for P.I.N.K. Executive Director, Stephanie Hamburger. “The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign’s extraordinary dedication to research will help further the amazing success of Play for P.I.N.K. Mrs. Evelyn Lauder was Play for P.I.N.K.’s #1 cheerleader, which makes this generous show of support even more meaningful.”
