BCRF’s 100-plus partner brands fuel nearly half of BCRF’s investment in breast cancer research. Not only do they donate to the Foundation through product sales and direct gifts, BCRF partner brands are increasingly hosting virtual events and rallying employees and customers to fundraise for BCRF.

Ulta Beauty’s Beauty on the Move Initiative To promote exercise (which can reduce breast cancer risk) and raise funds for BCRF, Ulta Beauty hosted its second Beauty on the Move initiative this October. Ulta Beauty associates nationwide enjoyed a variety of online workout classes throughout the month and came together across teams and store locations to collectively fund thousands of hours of lifesaving breast cancer research. During a special virtual event on October 23, thrivers from the Ulta Beauty family shared stories of how research advances impacted them personally.
Lands’ End’s #WalkWithLandsEnd Initiative For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lands’ End launched its Every Step of the Way initiative to encourage employees and customers to get active and fundraise for BCRF by walking, running, hiking and biking. Lands’ End CEO Jerome Griffith even joined in. At the end of September, he summited Mount Kilimanjaro in honor of his daughter, Samantha, who was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2020, and all Lands’ End employees impacted by breast cancer. As part of the climb, he continued Samantha’s fundraising efforts by asking family and friends to donate to BCRF. Since July, Samantha, Jerome, and their family have raised more than $100,000.
Cytiva & BCRF Panel Discussion On September 29, Cytiva hosted a virtual panel event discussing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on breast cancer and exploring recent advancements in metastatic breast cancer research. The panel was moderated by Carmen Brown Marshall, a Cytiva employee and 17-year breast cancer thriver; BCRF Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Dorraya El-Ashry; and BCRF investigator Dr. Lisa A. Carey. Anne Klein “Women Who DO” IG Live On October 13, Anne Klein featured BCRF Advisory Board Member Kelley Tuthill on its “Women Who DO” monthly IG Live series hosted by Anne’s granddaughter, Jesse Gre Rubinstein. The conversation highlighted Tuthill’s experience with breast cancer and support of BCRF’s research. Watch here.
Superior Plus Energy’s Pink Truck initiative All year round, Superior Plus donates 2 cents for every gallon of heating oil and propane delivered by its fleet of pink trucks. This October, Superior Plus also encouraged their employees to fundraise and matched 50 percent of employee donations up to $10,000 (for a company donation of $5,000), in honor of everyone impacted by breast cancer—now and in the future.
TIEM Taps Back For the fourth October in a row, TIEM partnered with cycling studios across the country to host classes in support of breast cancer research. Riders wore pink athleisure and TIEM’s BCRF-supporting Coral Pink Slipstream Cycling Shoe, donated to BCRF, and learned about ways to reduce breast cancer risk.
Panda Global’s All-Star Nickvitational Esports organization Panda Global hosted this single-day charity tournament featuring the game Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl on October 5 via Panda Global’s Twitch channel. Several notable gaming streamers and personalities were invited to compete, but with a catch—each competitor had one week to raise money for BCRF to bid on the character they wanted to use in the event. In addition to the character auctions, creators also hosted their own individual fundraising campaigns to benefit BCRF. The event raised a whopping $100,675 and drew more than 137,000 views in one day. Panda Global also supports research through BCRF-branded merchandise.
Bloomingdale’s PINK Yoga Event One way to reduce your risk of breast cancer is to cut down on sedentary time and get 2.5 hours of moderate intensity exercise per week. This year, Bloomingdale’s provided a free and fun way to do just that. Bloomingdale’s kicked off its 2021 program on October 2 with a virtual yoga class led by breast cancer thriver Sarrah Strimel. The live-streamed event provided a meaningful way to get moving.
D’Arrigo California’s Cook for a Cure Diets high in leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, and legumes can reduce a person’s risk of breast cancer. Learn how to incorporate these nutritious vegetables into your diet while supporting research on October 27 with D’Arrigo California and blogger Candice Walker of Proportional Plate! Roll up your sleeves and cook along with Candice as she makes turkey lettuce wraps with Thai chili ginger sauce, roasted sweet baby broccoli with piquillo pepper romesco, and a blender green juice. A $15 donation to BCRF here secures your spot in the class, which will be available on demand through November 26.
