BCRF is thrilled to award Traders4ACause with the Foundation’s Carolyn Lynch Humanitarian Award and honor the organization for its outstanding philanthropy and support of breast cancer research at the Boston Hot Pink Party on April 26.
Traders4ACause was founded in 2013 by Nathan Michaud and Scott Herman, who, in partnership with Gregg Sciabica and Zach Schellhaas, wanted to create a company where the philanthropy takes center stage. One hundred percent of proceeds from their events are donated to charitable causes.
Traders4ACause has supported BCRF’s mission to eradicate breast cancer over the last eight years—raising nearly $700,000 for research. They have been sponsors of the Boston Hot Pink Party, and their annual charity conference in Las Vegas has made BCRF one of its beneficiaries since it was first launched.
When co-founders Scott and Nathan were deciding which causes to donate to, Scott shared that his wife, Stephanie, had been diagnosed by breast cancer. In 2015, Scott and Stephanie met Myra J. Biblowit, BCRF’s President and CEO.
“BCRF has been a main beneficiary of every big event we’ve put on since meeting the team,” Nathan said. “BCRF has connected with our organization on a genuine and personal level more than any other to date.”
When the Traders4ACause leadership learned they would be honored with the Carolyn Lynch Humanitarian Award, they were excited that their commitment to progressing scientific progress had made such a positive impact.
“As traders we often ask ourselves: What is success? When have you truly made it? This, this is what success is: Making a difference in people’s lives and helping those in need,” Nathan said. “We couldn’t be prouder to receive this honor.”
The Traders4ACause team is excited to continue making an impact and fueling more critical breast cancer research through their innovative fundraising events. Nathan says BCRF’s mission could not be more personal.
“Unfortunately, everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer. Whether it’s family, a friend, or acquaintance, you don’t need to look far to find someone whose life has been turned upside down when they receive the heartbreaking news,” he said. “Cancer is something that impacts everyone.”
