BCRF is thrilled to announce a new corporate partnership with the premier worldwide gaming company, Blizzard Entertainment, to support lifesaving breast cancer research. Today, the company’s bestselling video game, Overwatch, has released a special charity skin to raise funds for BCRF.
This new skin is designed for Overwatch’s character Mercy, a scientist and guardian angel of the game who has dedicated her life to helping others. Available from May 8 through May 21 as an in-game purchase on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, all sales of the limited-edition Pink Mercy skin will benefit BCRF.
Blizzard Entertainment will donate 100 percent the proceeds that it receives from all purchases to BCRF, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000.
“This partnership will be a literal game-changer for those impacted by breast cancer,” says Stephanie Kauffman, Chief Strategic Alliances Officer at BCRF.
In addition to the skin, players can show their support for the cause with a purchase of a limited edition Pink Mercy t-shirt, available for men and women, designed by community artist VICKISIGH.
Blizzard Entertainment, a leader in the gaming industry, has a track record of number one games that spans more than two decades. The company has also garnered broad critical acclaim, achieving multiple Game of the Year awards across each of its blockbuster franchises.
“Blizzard Entertainment has made an incredible commitment to activate change for women’s health by mobilizing the gaming community worldwide to raise critical funds for lifesaving cancer research. We are deeply appreciative to Blizzard for their support of BCRF and our mission to be the end of breast cancer. ” Kauffman adds.
