The Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coin Program will be launching March 15 at noon. The three-coin program includes the first-ever minted gold coin in a pink hue, along with silver and clad.
The U.S. Mint has placed a limit of one pink-gold coin per household for the first 24 hours. Gold coins are limited and expected to sell out quickly. If you are interested in purchasing the gold coin, please be sure to set your calendars for 12 PM EST on Thursday, March 15 to buy online through the U.S. Mint.
Sign up for an email notification to be alerted when the coins are available for purchase.
The Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coin program, championed by Congresswoman Maloney, has the potential to raise critical funds for breast cancer research. Surcharges of $35 for each $5 gold coin sold, $10 for each silver dollar sold, and $5 for each half-dollar coin sold will be donated to BCRF.
“Breast cancer is one of the most urgent public health issues of our time. As the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women across the U.S., there are too many people we lose to the disease each year,” said Myra Biblowit, BCRF President.
“But progress is possible—mortality rates have decreased by 38% over the last 25 years. We will eradicate breast cancer and support from the BCA Commemorative Coin program will help us achieve our mission even faster.”
