At BCRF’s Hot Pink Party in New York City on Tuesday, the Foundation honored William P. Lauder with the Evelyn H. Lauder Spirit of Philanthropy Award named for his mother and BCRF’s late founder.
William has played an invaluable role at BCRF as co-chair of the esteemed Board of Directors since 2015. His strategic, inspiring leadership has carried forth his mother’s legacy, honoring her life’s work while expanding BCRF’s impact in ways we could not have imagined three decades ago.
In 2023, BCRF marked 30 years of incredible progress in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and metastasis. Today, the Foundation is moving faster than ever toward achieving its lifesaving mission. William’s visionary leadership is enduring this progress continues, so that one day we will end breast cancer.
This award celebrates generosity at its finest and honors a visionary individual, family, or organization whose altruistic impact profoundly improves others’ lives. William embodies these characteristics deeply. His guidance, tremendous personal generosity, and unwavering passion for helping those affected by breast cancer has had an enormous global impact.
“I would like to thank the brilliant BCRF researchers who work every day to bring us closer to the end of breast cancer and all of you for your support for believing in their important work,” William said in his remarks on Tuesday evening. “The future is bright and we will all continue to work together toward a world free from breast cancer.”
