Estrogen receptor

By BCRF | September 11, 2024

The estrogen receptor (ER) is a protein found in and on certain cells in the body that binds to the hormone estrogen. Healthy breast cells have estrogen receptors, as do some breast cancer cells. When estrogen binds to certain breast cancer cells, it fuels breast cancer’s growth and spread.
