The New York Open and BCRF Join Forces in All-Star Play for P.I.N.K. Tennis Event

By BCRF | February 7, 2018

For two nights only, tennis all-stars will match up to support breast cancer research.

The New York Open and BCRF have joined forces to create two memorable nights of tennis to advance research. In conjunction with BCRF’s largest independent fundraiser, Play for P.I.N.K., the tennis matches will take place on February 11 and 13 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

“Play for P.I.N.K.  has made a significant impact on many lives, and it’s truly special that we can work together on making a positive impact on breast cancer research awareness and raising money,” Josh Ripple, the Tournament’s Director, said.

Each year, more than 30,000 volunteers organize Play for P.I.N.K. sporting events across the U.S. and donate 100 percent of all funds raised to BCRF. In 2017, the organization made a $4.6 million donation to BCRF supporting 27 researchers.

On February 11, the New York Open’s Premiere Night will feature a women’s Play for P.I.N.K matchup between 2017 U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens and Canada’s No. 1 WTA player Eugenie Bouchard, which will benefit BCRF.

On February 13 the Bryan Brothers will play on Stadium Court, a match that will also raise funds for BCRF.

“We are thrilled to partner with the New York Open,” said Stephanie Hamburger, Executive Director of Play for P.I.N.K. “The money raised on both of these nights will help fund critical, lifesaving research and impact the lives of countless individuals and families affected by breast cancer.”

Guests who purchase tickets for either Play for P.I.N.K. Night will receive a special co-branded New York Open and BCRF item. The merchandise will also be available for purchase on site.

BCRF will receive 25 percent of net proceeds of ticket sales generated by this link and a percentage of merchandise sales.
